1 Works in collaboration with state colleagues and national office staff to promote >
[ASSOCIATION]’s strategic issues, priorities, programs, and activities. As appropriate, facilitates interaction and communication with national office partners to request technical assistance and ensure that the proper resources are available for staff and volunteers, including issue material, talking points, updates, and briefing materials.

2 Builds and maintains strong, productive relationships with federal, state, and local officials >
in the assigned geographic region. Builds effective grassroots and key contacts capacity within the assigned region to enable effective communication and impact on elected national and state officials representing the region.

3 Engages members, volunteers, chapters in grassroots, community outreach, and policy maker relationship activities >
in support of the [ASSOCIATION] state plan. Organizes and maintains visible and effective coalitions and partnerships dealing with volunteer engagement, social impact, and member value strategic activities.

4 Works in close partnership with staff and volunteer leaders to recruit, match, orient, train, and support volunteers. >
Creates and implements formal volunteer recognition plans. Provides assistance and support on performance management and coaching in partnership with the volunteers’ supervisors. Provides technical assistance in the areas of meeting planning, communications, skill development, etc. Participates in training volunteers on priority issues, strategies, tactics, policies, relationship building, and state-specific political and communications processes.

5 Serves as a member of the state team and is responsible for the development and implementation of systems for effectively involving volunteers >
in all aspects of [ASSOCIATION]’s work with chapters, units, external organizations, academic and business communities, and policy makers. Develops and implements volunteer roles related to activities that advance [ASSOCIATION]’s strategic priorities. Provides volunteer resource management expertise to the state team.

6 Makes presentations at workshops and conferences, >
as appropriate. Works with statewide volunteers on primary issues, community service, and legislative efforts. Ensures [ASSOCIATION] is seen as a visible force in community service and public policy development by educating staff, volunteers, members, government and elected officials, and the public.

among community and public policy leaders. Identifies and positions [ASSOCIATION] as a critical voice for age-eligible individuals, but also demonstrates relevance to all generations (i.e., decisions being made today can often most affect those 49 or younger). Manages and coordinates opportunities with public-speaking venues and other high profile venues, in collaboration with the Communications team.
