Duties: Develop and manage education and outreach programs, lectures,
performances, and special events. Initiate and oversee marketing,
publicity, and evaluation. Serve as a liaison to faculty, students,
schools, and educational organizations to carry out strategic
initiatives as related to the center's mission. Recruit and yield
participants for specific grant-funded programs. Coordinate
international scholar and student incoming exchanges. Assist with
researching and writing publications, reports, and grant proposals.
Provide organizational support to student groups. Oversee the work of
four Program Assistants.
Qualifications: BA/BS degree; minimum three years of related experience
or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of
and interest in East Asia; experience in and commitment to educational
outreach; excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational
skills; demonstrated ability to organize and publicize events
successfully; experience in developing outreach programs in a team
setting; experience with website development and desktop publishing
software; must be willing to travel locally; must be willing to work
occasional evenings and weekends.
