Consider the logical, convenient, natural "ins" for int'l education within STEM (science, tech, engineering, maths).
First things that come to mind:
1. All STEM will involve collaborations with partners from all four corners of the world (interpersonal dimension)
2. Usually STEM involve projects or subject matter found in multiple locations, in the context of diverse societies/languages (venue dimension)
3. At the descriptive level, storyproblems or real world projects can be set in diverse languages/locations, so it is worth knowing where they are, how they are pronouced, what they mean (literally, but also in terms of cultural captial/significance or symbolism)
4. At the cognition level, the worldview, expectations, distinctions and category fields of each language/culture make the practice of STEM slightly different according to context (i.e. despite the claim of universality, still there are human and therefore cultural layers as well). There may well be competing or complementary systems of thought for STEM.
