A: current LATTICE participants foreign & domestic

outcomes of LATTICE

Q-II. What sorts of materials can be conveyed asynchronously (not during
the actual sessions)?
A: session presentations, handouts, activity or fact sheets
recipes & pictures (or video clip to demonstrate a special technique of
making?)
related photos and URLs to relevant websites and the online materials
found there
session reflections & whole-year recap
capsule summaries of the session (not the full detail of each segment, but
just a few pictures & words)
capsule bio sketch (no more than 3-5 pictures and a paragraph or two about
a person's home, family or workplace in the wider context of the home
country --USA or other)
--the purpose is much like the Name Ritual: to personalize a place, but
being online, this capsule would not give away intimate details of name,
but instead personalize one's country
Q-III. With what purpose do most people go to the website to seek
something?
A: refer a colleague to something encountered during a session
retrieve a fresh copy of something that one has misplaced or given away
jog one's memory of a particular topic or activity by seeing memento
pictures/summaries
seek compact overview of the LATTICE story, methods, structures and tenor
[newcomers]
browse for inspiration in one's own local Professional Development work
reconfirm a small detail (recipe measurement, fact or source quoted, title
mentioned, contact information given)
=-=-= the elements which would bring the organization to reusable life for
me as an alumnus include:
session agenda with hotlinks from each item to related content (2-3
pictures, a few remarks taken from 2-min reflection)
audio recording of invited speaker or presenter, if suitable for outside
listeners to make sense of (out of the face to face context)
mini-sized video (& DVD-rom auxillary files) of the LATTICE DVD for online
viewing (or mp3 audio listening as a second resort)
possibly explore the idea of giving current LATTICE participants some
training in www.flickr.com (online photosharing).
The idea would be to help each other to post photos/comments online for
lattice-only (or public) viewing.
This then serves as another way to personalize the past events and current
headlines of a particular part of the world for all members to view, think
about, comment upon and thereby grow within the circle of trust generated
month by month.
The neat features of flickr.com as of today are
(1) able to add a picture & text from your email account (or cell phone),
(2) able to tag the picture onto a reference map so that you or others can search any
placename for the associated pictures added by all flickr.com users,
(3) able to mark a part of the picture and footnote some remarks there
